Editorial workflow

From proposal to published book

01

Initial proposal review

The editorial team assesses scope, scholarly purpose and fit with the list before any manuscript is sent for evaluation.

02

Peer evaluation

Accepted manuscripts undergo strict double-blind peer review by independent specialists before a decision is made.

03

Editorial revision

Authors work closely with our editors on both English and Bengali prose, refining argument, structure and clarity.

04

Production

Approved manuscripts move into design and typesetting for print and digital editions, with bibliography and documentation checked throughout.

Manuscript preparation

Standards for every submission

These guidelines help us assess proposals fairly and prepare accepted manuscripts for publication in either language.

Citation styles

Use one consistent citation style throughout, with complete bibliographic detail for every source, including translated and archival material.

Bilingual terminology

Provide a glossary of key terms in both Bengali and English where a concept carries distinct meanings across the two languages.

Rights clearance

Authors are responsible for securing permission for any quoted text, images or data that are not their own before submission.
